Footsteps – Global Gathering of Girls

April 7 - 5:00 am - 10:00 am PST

During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

Inspired by the poem “Footsteps in the Sand”, this global gathering of girls will inspire young women from all backgrounds to follow in the footsteps of the great women before them and empower them to leave their own footprints for others to follow.

As girls deal with unprecedented levels of stress associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the risk of mental health issues continues to increase, impacting girls’ self-confidence, well-being, and ability to effectively navigate key life decisions.

Adolescence, particularly mid to late adolescence (16-21 years), is a critical period for all young people. For girls and young women, it is a time when they are making big decisions about their education, career path and future.

This virtual event will inspire and empower young women to reach their potential and set their aspirations and goals for the future, allowing them to create their own unique path and life mission. It will further engage them as the future young leaders in their lives, work and world.

Learning, tools and insights will be focused in the following areas.
  • Empowerment: Self-confidence, positive self-image, authentic voice, and ways to speak up for self and others.
  • Well-being: Mental health, juggling it all, time management and balance.
  • Resilience: How to face fears, be courageous and to recognize and address unconscious bias.
  • Networking: Meet, learn from and create community with diverse peers around the world.
  • Innovation: How to embrace new ideas, value differing opinions and allow others to freely express their views.
  • Change Agent: Embrace human and environmental rights; and become a force for the good in the world.
  • Purpose: Ignite and follow through on your life’s mission by uncovering values and passions.
  • Global Citizenship: Increased appreciation and respect for the diversity of perspectives that inform different cultures and communities.
  • Leadership: Acquire and grow the skills to become a principled and socially conscious leader.

This event will be curated and run by Dr Sam Collins, equality advocate, social entrepreneur and author. Dr. Sam Collins has dedicated her life to empowering women and girls all over the world through a powerful mix of events, coaching and mentoring. She is the founder of Aspire for Equality where she leads the team responsible for creating events and programming designed to promote individual, organizational and social change.

Consisting of speakers, interviews, panels, music and interactive sessions, this event will be fun, informative and life changing!
